PROBLEM STATEMENT

PhonePe is a super app that is used by people multiple times throughout the day, for tasks ranging from paying for coffee at a cafe, to booking a taxi back home. Therefore, it makes sense to elevate key actions and content from the app and display it on the homescreen where users can see them at a glance.

Why are widgets are necessary?

  • The main idea of the widget feature is to provide users a piece of useful information at a glance of the eye. So you need to make a widget with a more simplified concept that allows the user to get what they needed effortlessly.
  • These three widget sizes of iOS deliver different values and amounts of information given to the user. These sizes can be used for separate purposes and functions based on the app itself.
  • Designing a widget needs to be implement what really matters for the user at first. Is it just for giving a glance at information that needed the most? or it also could be brought any further interaction that could be done by the user to take more action from the widget to the app.

Value for the users

  1. With the help of widgets, users are put in control of creating unique experiences by fine-tuning the interaction with the phone
  2. Users can single out specific bits of information from the app, which eliminates the tedium of going through the same repetitive actions
  3. Phones receive various inputs such as location awareness that can be used by the system to bring up the right information or function at the right time, further improving the usability and convenience of the application.

The Human Interface Guidelines 

  • If a widget’s content never appears to change, the user might not place it in a prominent position. Although widgets don’t update from minute to minute, it’s important to find ways to keep their content fresh to invite frequent viewing.
